About Matcha is a concept space located in Warsaw, dedicated to authentic Japanese matcha and specialty coffee culture.

Objectives, brand strategy, naming and visual identity.

The brand’s identity is deeply rooted in tradition. The name itself invites you to explore the origins of matcha — not only as a drink but as a cultural ritual. Drawing inspiration from the serene atmosphere of a traditional Japanese tea house, Chashitsu (茶室), we set out to create a brand experience that feels timeless, grounded, and pure.

Visually, About Matcha blends minimalist structures with natural, organic elements. We gathered real pieces of nature — twisted branches, fallen wood, dried leaves — and incorporated them into the design process by scanning and reprinting them, preserving their raw and imperfect beauty. This method allowed us to capture a sense of authenticity, reflecting the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi — the appreciation of imperfection and impermanence.

The color palette complements this idea: soft earth tones, muted greens, and neutral shades inspired by traditional tea houses and the subtle textures of nature. Together, these elements create a brand identity that feels both structured and alive, minimal yet deeply emotional.

This project was created in collaboration with @29bureau.
